Tara Brock

Tara is a certified Holistic Health and Wellness Coach in Dallas, Texas. She enjoys helping individuals learn how to implement the changes they know they need to make in their lives by providing education, support, and accountability.

In her 30s, Tara saw her health rapidly decline for no apparent reason. After seeing several different doctors, she was finally diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease by a traditional medical doctor. He sent her to an endocrinologist who put her on thyroid medication. She felt great for two weeks and then started feeling terrible again. The doctor kept increasing her medication, yet she always felt exhausted. She felt so bad, and she didn’t see how she would be able to continue her job as a high school English Teacher. She began looking for answers outside the traditional medical model. She finally found a functional medicine doctor who did extensive lab testing and got to the root of her problem. This doctor helped her make diet and lifestyle changes that vastly improved her health, energy, and vitality. As a result of her struggles, she developed a passion for helping others navigate their health and wellness issues. She noticed that many of her friends also suffered from thyroid disorders, and their doctors had not mentioned the role diet plays in thyroid health. She started sharing what she had learned with her close friends and saw their health improve just as hers had.

Tara has always been passionate about sharing knowledge and teaching others. In 2016, after 20 years of teaching high school English, she left that career to become a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She attended the Health Coach Institute, where she earned her Health Coaching Certification and an advanced certificate in the Transformational Coaching Method. She took her love of educating others and began helping patients by showing them how to fit their doctor’s recommendations into their lifestyles.

Tara’s health struggle has inspired her to help others, teaching them to avoid the disease management spiral, or if they’re already there, perform a 180 and positively reverse the course of their overall health. She does this by meeting people where they are with no judgment and helping them take manageable steps to improve their health. She loves to disseminate information and make it practical and tactical so people can integrate healthy habits into their lifestyles.

Tara is married to Dr. Brandon Brock. One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is helping patients make changes in their habits and diet to achieve their desired outcomes. The couple found that working together can provide patients with the support they need to make lasting changes and provide the best care possible.

Tara and Dr. Brock enjoy traveling and stay busy with their four children.
